Failure and Success

Psalm 2       Luke 16: 19-31

It is difficult to measure failure and success, as we see in the parable in Luke 16: 19-31, of the rich man and Lazarus.

To all appearances the rich man has it all and reaches everything that life offers. He seems like the recommended model and certainly focuses on getting ahead and making it in this world and all it holds dear.

There is, of course, a twist in fortune, which shatters this model of success. All is not as it seems when he reaches the other side of the grave and looks back on life.

We might ask then, what is successful living here on earth?

Let us explore this startling parable and hold it up against our own life values and decisions to measure failure and success. As we do this we will discover God Himself reshaping our directions and priorities and leading us in a whole new way!
