Making kingdom progress for Christ in this world can be like going back to the dentist to deal with an aggravating tooth.

It involves putting ourselves at the disposal of the surgeon and opening our mouth in order to relieve the situation.

In the parable of the persistent widow an annoying, aggravating injustice had occurred at the hands of a hostile enemy and she wanted it removed. She goes to the judge to grant her relief.

It was this persistence to see justice carried out that gained her success.

The key point is "will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry out to him day and night?"

Here is a great incentive for persistently going back to God in focussed prayer for kingdom progress to be made in our lives and in those who are around us.

It all comes back to the integrity of the Father/Judge to carry out His kingdom plans in our lives. He looks to us for faith and constancy in making our case.

When the Son of Man comes will He find faith on the earth?
